About Us
This local Montauk food truck is a family-owned and operated business that goes back to 1994. Its location — where the sand meets the parking lot to famous surfing beach, Ditch Plains. It all started when Lili realized hot dogs were the only food option at her hometown beach. Having worked in many well-known restaurants throughout her career as a chef, Lili had a vision. “It has to be more than just hot dogs.” Soon later, that vision came to life and the Ditch Witch was born.
Summer after summer, Lili served her homemade beachside cuisine to Montauk locals and vacationers from all over the globe. Some of the favorites included her famous sesame noodles, chili, cinnamon buns and Greek salad. Working alongside Lili was her daughter Abby, who started helping out when she was a young teenager. Her youngest son, Grant, was always on the beach doing what little groms do best until he was old enough to work the truck. In 2015, after 20 years, Lili retired and Abby and Grant took over, keeping the family tradition alive. Now in it’s 27th season, the Ditch Witch is still serving the classics along with Abby and Grant’s new menu items and specials (like the Classic Poke Bowl and the Tomahawk), which have acquired a following.
